Reports from Ecuador's capital, Quito, indicate that
TACA and Avianca of Colombia's parent, Synergy Aerospace, will acquire a majority shareholding in the Ecuadorean carrier, Aerogal.
Avianca, which is owned by Brazilian entrepreneur German Efromovich, will acquire 80% of the sharess and Taca airlines of El Salvador is likely to purchase the remaining 20% later in 2010. This deal is reported to be worth $7.2 million. Avianca and TACA airlines merged late in 2009 and the Synergy group already included OceanAIr of Brazil.
