Santiago

Santiago de Chile, the capital of Chile, is a modern metropolis with a magnificent backdrop of snow-capped mountains of the Andes. The one museum to see in Santiago is the Museo Chileno de Arte Precolumbino that houses 4500 years of pre-Columbian civilisation. The Chinchorro mummies, 1000 years older than the Egyptian mummies, are not to be missed.
